Last week, Winterflood Securities took part in the ‘Focus on Finance’ Day organised by Redmayne Bentley. Andrew Stancliffe, Head of Execution Services at Winterflood and professionals from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), met with sixth form students from Elliott Hudson College at Redmayne Bentley’s Leeds Head Office to share insights on pursuing a career in financial services.
The day involved a number of interactive sessions whereby students were taught about the history of stocks and shares, the lifecycle of a trade on the Stock Exchange and the various career paths available to them in financial services. Alongside his industry peers, Andrew discussed his extensive career in the sector, and lead a collaborative session called ‘The Market Making Game’, whereby students were able to experience the practice of trading and pricing with everyday objects.
"I found the day both rewarding and insightful, which I hope provided a spark of inspiration for the students," said Andrew.
